What's the deal with reader submissions?

Humanswers accepts new articles from readers for several reasons:

1. We're interested in what you guys have to say! We want to learn new things just as much as you do -- and we genuinely believe that a sortable index of answers posed to life's hardest questions sounds like an excellent way to learn.

2. It helps us see which topics readers are interested in. We'll then focus more energy on devoting our studies to those areas.

3. Adding new submissions allows our readers to develop a new fanbase of their own and get noticed! This is especially true for nonfiction writers out there who aren't on the team yet but would like to be published authors someday.

Publishers usually only take manuscripts from publishing agents (to thin the number of queries and save time), and publishing agents often choose authors based on popularity or background. Humanswers provides budding authors the chance to post some of their work, receive feedback from readers and the chance to make reference to reader-ratings on the site to prove the quality of their work to agents. Bolster your writing portfolio with a piece that's been read numerous times with positive ratings and prove your talent much more easily.

4. As well, we hope to use reader submissions as a basis for developing a queue of writers to choose from for employment within the site, should they be interested :)

Feel free to up articles, studies, reviews or anything else that seems fitting for intellectual discourse!
